Since May, 19-20th, 2011 at the al-Farabi Kazakh national university passed V Conference «GIS in Central Asia» GISCA 2011 where together gathered GIS-experts and researchers from the countries of the Central Asia, CIS and abroad.
The main objective of this English language conference was the decision of problems in the field of GIS. The given conference allowed to study experience of the leading countries of the world and to encourage international cooperation and knowledge exchange in GIS education.
On conference have arrived more than 100 scientists from the different countries. The conference has started from seminars passing since May, 16-18th 2011y.
In 2011, GISCA was focused on the theme of «Geoinformatics: Managing Environment, Resources and Risk».
