The organization and implementation of the educational process, scientific research of the faculty are of Development Strategy of the University.
Feature of the educational process in the reporting period was the transition to an experimental training program for all levels of the credit system of education.
The main goal, which set the Department of Geography is improving knowledge and image of the faculty and the university, their competitiveness and attractiveness.
At the faculty organized a seminar on the methodological problems of teaching geography courses in high school.
Also at the Faculty of successfully operating a theoretical seminar on geography.Our task is to turn it into a citywide, and in the future, a national seminar.
Faculty of Geography has in stock the whole package of necessary educational and methodical documentation necessary to ensure the educational process of training, namely, SES, model curricula in the field of bachelor, master and doctoral programs.In all specialties of the faculty have a passport, a complete list of all general and special (elective) courses with an indication of teachers with training on all forms of learning.
The faculty 5 computer classes, 3 of the class are equipped with powerful modern computers, as well as in a class of interactive whiteboard is installed.All computer classes are connected to the Internet.In addition to each department has computers connected to Internet.
Network of personal computers in the department of meteorology are used to collect micrometeorological information, research and organization of Workplace forecaster.There is access to the Internet, to data collection and processing of hydrometeorological information.
In the learning process is actively using GIS technology - special packages of computer programs: MapInfo 9.0, Corel Draw, Geographic Transformer, Arc GIS, CorelXara, as well as in the shooting of field practices used land navigation devices (GPS).
When organizing the educational process identified several areas of the deanery:

• Improve the planning of the educational process within the credit system;
• Implementation of the principle structural and logical coherence and continuity of academic disciplines;
• The principle of customer orientation and demand for professionals in the labor market;
• Improving the quality of educational services, the introduction of quality management.

In the past year, published 12 textbooks and teaching aids.
Planned:
- Continue work on creation of electronic books for the expansion of distance learning;
- To prepare for the 1913 edition of textbooks and teaching aids.
