The first meeting of KazNU Employer’s Council took place at al-Farabi Kazakh National University; the Chairman was the president of “Kazatomprom” NAC, Vladimir Shkolnik. In the light of new objectives set by the Head of the state on Kazakhstan’s intellectual breakthrough into the global space, the Mission of KazNU Employers’ Council is to promote the development of the university as the center of training of highly qualified competitive specialists.
The activity of the Council is aimed at the participation of employing companies in the expansion of practical bases, realization of joint scientific research programs, international projects, and various events. Employing companies also will promote the adaption of the academic process to the requirements of the employers, development of joint educational programs on the training of specialists. Besides, the employers are ready to conduct employment market research with the aim of qualitative training of specialists, to analyze and to bring up suggestions on the improvement of curricula and programs according to the consumers’ real requirements.
“We are currently on the threshold of the scientific and technical revolutions; we cannot be competitive without principally new solutions. Our success without qualified specialists at the modern level is impossible; therefore employers must educate their employees from the first year of study”, - V. Shkolnik assumes.
