Department of Information Systems

Department of Information Systems in fact originates from the department "of computer software" specializing "DoD computer", from ¬ covered in 1973. The first head was a physical and mathematical sciences, KA Kasimov. After him, the doctor in charge of the Department of Physics and Mathematics ¬ mathematical sciences, Professor M. Telemtaev.
In 1989 he opened a new department "of computers and cybernetics" specialization "DoD computer" and "Mathematical Cybernetics". Head of the Department became Doctor of Physics and Mathematics, Associate Professor T. Biyarov.
Since 2003, the head of the department doctor of technical sciences, Professor William A. Touquet. Then the Department of Mathematical Cybernetics and Information Systems was renamed the Department of Information Systems. "
On April 14, 2011 Head of the Department Mutanov Galimkair Mutanovich - doctor of technical sciences, professor, member of the International Engineering Academy, International Academy of Higher Education, the International Eurasian Academy of Economics, the International Academy of Art, the International Personnel Academy. Honored Worker of Science and Technology of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
The department trains specialists in the field of information systems, recruits to the specialty 5B070300 - Information Systems (BA); specialty 6N070300 - Information Systems (Master); specialty 6D070300 - Information Systems (PhD-PhD).
Training programs are harmonized with international recommended curricula ACM.
Among the teachers of the department "Information Systems" 12 doctors and PhDs. Teachers of the department are major specialists of Kazakhstan in the field of information systems and technologies.
Graduates of the department can work as economists, educators, programmers, developers, managers, administrators, networks and databases in virtually any organization, including banks, insurance companies, commercial organizations, research organizations, educational institutions.

BASIC RESEARCH DEPARTMENT IS:
• Research and development of new methods of database design;
• Computer translation of the Kazakh language to English (Russian) language and vice versa.
• Security of corporate information systems;
• Designing Distributed Web-based applications and databases, corporate information systems;
• Fuzzy pattern recognition algorithms.

Since 2008, operates a local Network Academy Cisco. It is prepared IT-specialists in the following courses:
• «Fundamentals of Information Technology» (IT Fundamentals),
• CCNA (Cisco Certified Network Associate - vanny certified by Cisco Specialist networks)
• Discovery.
The program includes an on-line testing and monitoring progress, practical laboratory classes, and prepares students to obtain international certificates
