Al-Farabi Kazakh National University was the first educational institution in the country that launched master programs and since 1996 it has been the leading national center of graduate education. Today the university delivers 105 master programs. Instruction is provided in Kazakh, Russian and English languages, with foreign professors engaged.

Enrollment into the master programs of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University is made in accordance with the Standard Rules of Admission Into Educational Institutions, Realizing Professional Programs of Post-Graduate Education, approved by the Order of Government of the RK of January, 19, 2012 № 109.

Form of study: full time.

Duration of study: 2 years, 1, 1,5.

Requirements for applicants for admission to the master programs of KazNU named after Al-Farabi:

- Bachelor's Degree diploma;

- High grade point average on the previous stage of education (baccalaureate)

 

Master programs are developed for 75 specialties in the fields of natural sciences, humanities, engineering and social sciences.

Registration for master programs candidates

Entrance examinations will be held from 1 to 20 August:
1) in one of foreign languages (English, French, German);
2) on specialty.  

Exam on specialty is a written examination. To get programs for the entrance examination on specialty please contact Technical Secretary of your department from the Admissions Committee or specialists of the Postgraduate Education Institute after July 15.

Foreign language Exam (English, French, German) is taken in test form.
The exam is conducted by the National Center for State Education Standards and Testing of the MES of the RK. For admission to the Foreign Language Exam you should get a special admission card from the Admissions Committee. You should bring your identity card as well.

On the day of Foreign language Exam you should have:
- Admission card;
- Identity card;
- Receipt of payment for the exam and its copy.

 

ENROLLMENT

 

Enrollment in KazNU is open. The Admissions Committee conducts open enrollment procedure with participation of all candidates in the period from 25 to 31 August. You have the right to be admitted to competitive selection for enrollment on the basis of the state educational order, if as a result of the entrance examinations you have gained at least 8 points of maximum 10 on a 5-point scale («excellent», «good», «satisfactory», «unsatisfactory»).
