Today as a part of Oriental Studies faculty 4 chairs work. At all departments professors from foreign universities-partners of the faculty work.
- Department of Middle East and South Asia trains highly qualified specialists in specialties «5В020900 – Oriental Studies», «6М020900 – Oriental Studies», «6D020900 – Oriental Studies», «5В020700 – Translation Studies», «6М020700 – Translation Studies», «5В021010 – Foreign philology», «6М021010 – Foreign philology», «5В050500 – Area Studies», «6М050500 – Area Studies», which it conforms to the international standards of education. Teachers of department develop scientific projects of republican and international value. The Arabic, Persian and Hindi and Urdu languages are studied. One of the main objectives facing department is improvement of a technique of teaching with use of new technologies and active forms of education. Teachers of department in educational process, at quality check of knowledge of students use modern educational techniques, and also apply results of the scientific research in educational process. Within pro-scale of exchange and the academic mobility students, undergraduates and doctoral candidates of department pass a training in foreign universities of Egypt, Jordan, Iran and India.
- Department of Chinese Studies trains highly qualified specialists in specialties «5В020900 – Oriental Studies», «6М020900 – Oriental Studies», «6D020900 – Oriental Studies», «5В020700 – Translation Studies», «6М020700 – Translation Studies», «5В021010 – Foreign philology», «6М021010 – Foreign philology», «5В050500 – Area Studies», «6М050500 – Area Studies», which it conforms to the international standards of education. Teachers of department develop scientific projects of republican and international value and work in close cooperation with the Confucius Institute. The Chinese language is studied. One of the main objectives facing department is improvement of a technique of teaching with use of new technologies and active forms of education. Teachers of department in educational process, at quality check of knowledge of students use modern educational techniques, and also apply results of the scientific research in educational process. Within pro-scale of exchange and the academic mobility students, undergraduates and doctoral candidates of department pass a training in foreign universities of China. There is a training in a double-degree program at Lanzhou University.
- Department of the Far East trains highly qualified specialists in specialties «5В020900 – Oriental Studies», «6М020900 – Oriental Studies», «6D020900 – Oriental Studies», «5В020700 – Translation Studies», «6М020700 – Translation Studies», «5В021010 – Foreign philology», «6М021010 – Foreign philology», which it conforms to the international standards of education. One of the main objectives facing department is improvement of a technique of teaching with use of new technologies and active forms of education. Teachers of department in educational process, at quality check of knowledge of students use modern educational techniques, and also apply results of the scientific research in educational process. Within pro-scale of exchange and the academic mobility students, undergraduates and doctoral candidates of department pass a training in foreign universities of Japan and Korea. There is a training in a double-degree program at Hankuk University of Foreign Studies.
- TURKSOY Department trains highly qualified specialists in specialties «5В020900 – Oriental Studies», «6М020900 – Oriental Studies», «6D020900 – Oriental Studies», «5В020700 – Translation Studies», «6М020700 – Translation Studies», «5В021010 – Foreign philology», «6М021010 – Foreign philology», «5В021200 – Turkology», «6М021200 – Turkology», «6D021200 – Turkology», which it conforms to the international standards of education. Teachers of department develop scientific projects of republican and international value and work in close cooperation with the TURKSOY foundation. The Turkish, Ottoman, Chaghatay languages are studied. One of the main objectives facing department is improvement of a technique of teaching with use of new technologies and active forms of education. Teachers of department in educational process, at quality check of knowledge of students use modern educational techniques, and also apply results of the scientific research in educational process. Within pro-scale of exchange and the academic mobility students, undergraduates and doctoral candidates of department pass a training in foreign universities of Turkey.
