FACULTY OF PHYSICS IN KazNU named al-Farabi - LEADER OF PHYSICAL AND TECHNICAL EDUCATION  IN THE REPUBLIC OF KAZAKHSTAN

In the rapid development of  human civilization in the third thousand anniversary of  physics belongs to the exclusive role as a revolution, begun in the physics of the twentieth century had a profound impact on a variety of science, technology and society in general. First of all, physics - the science that studies the laws of natural phenomena, properties and structure of the material theory, laws of motion. In this age of high technologies is extremely increasing role of physics is not only a scientific basis for various industries, but also as a fundamental science and world view. It is a fundamental general physical education with a heavy mathematical, computer and language (English) training can solve the most challenging scientific and technological problems facing the Republic of Kazakhstan.

Faculty of  Physics, Kazakh National University. Al-Farabi, the leader of the Physics-Technical Education in the Republic of  Kazakhstan, is one of  the first faculties, educated at the University. It has existed since January 15, 1934, initially as a branch of physics and mathematics, the first dean was Professor Litvinov V.F. In May 1959 the physical separation of physics and mathematics has been transformed into an independent faculty. The first dean of the faculty became Associate Professor N.D Kosovo. Later this position was occupied by Associate N.C. Strashnikov,  Associate Professor of  S.I Issatayev, Professor V.P Kashkarov, Professors: E.V Kolomeetz, M.K Kusainov, AF Bogatyrev, pro-Professor: S.E Ermatov, Sh.Sh. Sarsembinov. In 1991-1998 years the dean of a physical faculty was the current rector of the Kazakh National University, Academician of IAS HS, Prof. TA Kozhamkulov. In subsequent years, the Deans have worked professors: F.B Baimbetov, T.S Ramazanov, Professor A.S Askarova, from July 2010 is the Associate Dean of the Faculty B.A Aliyev.

Currently, Department of Physics recognized and the largest in Kazakhstan and Training Research Center for the preparation of high qualification experts in the field of physical sciences, have high scientific and pedagogical potential, a solid material base. Department of Physics was the initiator and creator in 1992, the first university research institutes in the Republic of Kazakhstan - the Research Institute of  Experimental and Theoretical Physics (the first director of the Institute of TEI External rector of the KazNU, Prof. Kozhamkulov T. A.).

Currently in the Physics Department of six departments:
