The Faculty of Chemistry and Chemical Technology of Al-Farabi KazNU is one of the leading scientific and educational centers in Kazakhstan, occupying a leading position in the national rating of educational programs in the chemical profile.
Currently, the faculty has more than 1,500 students in 21 specialties and three levels of training. All educational programs, accredited by the international agency ASIIN, are annually modernized taking into account the needs of the labor market, which allows us to train highly-demanded specialists for industry and science.
The faculty functions according to the model of a scientific, educational and technological multidisciplinary cluster, which has six enlarged departments integrated with three research institutes, and has a material and technical base for conducting scientific research in various fields of chemistry and chemical technology.
First-year students are widely involved in the system of educational and research work under the guidance of experienced teachers and scientists of the faculty, including more than 50 doctors of sciences, 100 candidates of sciences and doctors of PhD. This allows motivated and hardworking students to reveal their potential, acquire deep knowledge, experience and the necessary competencies.

The Republic of Kazakhstan has vast mineral resources, including oil, coal and uranium. The country is also rich in non-ferrous metals: of the 117 elements of the periodic table in Kazakhstan there are 99. All of this requires training of chemists and chemical engineers are engaged in the analysis and processing of hydrocarbon and mineral resources. In 2014, the Faculty of Chemistry and Chemical Technology, Al-Farabi University celebrates its 80th anniversary. At the root of the formation and development of the Faculty were such luminaries of science as Academician of the Kazakh SSR A.Bekturov AB, BA Beremzhanov, D. Sokolski, MI Usanovich, MT Kozlowski et al. Experience for 80 years of rich tradition, known scientific schools, qualified professors faculty, outstanding achievements in the field of education and science - all this allows the faculty to look confidently to the future.
At present the faculty trains bachelors in the 3rd , master's and doctoral PhDpo 8 specialties . Training is conducted in Kazakh, Russian and English. New building located on the campus of the Faculty of the KNU , which was opened in 2009 by the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan NA Nazarbayev on the 75th anniversary of the university . The faculty is composed of five onsolidated departments, 2 institutes and 3 faculty laboratories, all of them equipped with modern equipment and devices. At the Faculty of more than 150 teachers , of which about 50 - doctors, 90 - Candidates of Sciences, 15 -PhD.
