Al-Farabi Kazakh national university is the hugest scientific and methodological center of higher education of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The Section of humanitarian and natural science specialties of the Republican scientific methodical council of MSE RK successfully functions at KazNU. The main objective of the RSMS section is the coordination of universities’ activities on the realization of educational programs. The Section supervises 117 specialties at the bachelor, master and doctoral degree and consists of 22 higher educational institutions of the republic; 12 commissions and 34 subsections are functioning. 

Annually the Section holds meetings where actual questions of higher education are being discussed. According to the subjects of the meetings the Section publishes sourcebooks which generalize the experience of the activity of universities in the realization of educational programs.
