In KazNU named after al-Farabi on the basis of «Keremet» (SSC «Keremet») Students Service Center within the framework of the «1000 good deeds» project at 1000-th anniversary of Almaty the official opening ceremony of social store was held. «Keremet» SSC of KazNU is the largest university service center, which is unique in universal space. Its conception is based on an idea of great thinker Al-Farabi about well-doing society, in which people help each other with the aim of achieving happiness. This postulate, which is in sync with an idea of the President N.A. Nazarbayev about welfare society, became the core principle of activity of university center.

Today «Keremet» SSC of KazNU – is a special «virtuous» house, in which a qualitatively new level of socially important services are implemented on the basis of collective mutual-support, high ethical standards and social responsibility. Here in a total area of 7500 sq. m. there are over 500 educational, medical, social and cultural-entertainment services for students under the «one stop» principle. The opening of a social store is a continuation of current project development and regular evidence of demonstration of social responsibility and university support of its students under tough economic times. Complete set of consumption and consumer basket at a reduced price - are at visitors' disposal. Besides, students not only save their money, but also have time to use services of a laundry, medical center, drug-store, footwear repair shop, clothing repair shop, beauty salon, photo studio, which are situated here.

«We are pleased with the center, which combines the receipt of all necessary services in one place, here in our student campus based on the «one stop» principle. And now we can readily get a medical certificate avoiding queues, pay tuition fees, get the necessary consultation of an experts or get a social services. We are glad to have such a social store. It enables us to think, primarily about studying, not about where it would be cheaper to buy food and goods of prime necessity. By the way, not only students can visit the store, but also retired people, members of large families, who live at near districts» - the KazNU third-year student Madi Akhmetov pointed out.

Furthermore, the student cafe with diversified menu was brought into operation recently for the inhabitants of «Keremet» SSC camp, where the charitable free lunches are given on Fridays for students from needy families. In a book store, which is also opened here, anyone can get acquainted wide-selection of printing media products, and not only purchase books, which are established by «Kazakh university» printing house, but also the production of worldwide publications. Thereby the intellectual medium is strengthened, which contributes to develop the creativity and scientific potential of young people. «Our aim is to implement high standards of quality, services which are provided to students and creation of a medium, which helps to form student's personality as «inhabitants of well-doing society» – future citizens of a country and world», - vice-rector of social development Sholpan Dzhamanbalayeva pointed out.

By the way, current object is the one of an examples how university actively attract investments on the basis of principles of Public-Private Partnership. Last year the building of a new library was finished based on PPP, at the beginning of the next year the swimming pool will be put in commission.
