The scientific educational center for the study of Japan and Central Asia has been opened in KazNU

In November 11, 2015 in Kazakh National University at the Faculty of Oriental Studies, Department of the Far East in the framework of the project "Campus in Campus" was the official opening of scientific educational center for the study of Japan and Central Asia (University of Tsukuba office in Almaty).

During the official opening of the International scientific conference "Japanese studies in Kazakhstan: Today and Tomorrow." as guests of honor were welcomed by Rector of the University of Tsukuba Caroline Benton, director of the Center for Central Asian Studies at the University of Tsukuba Ono Masaki and Head of the International Relations MatsuzakiHiroeshi. With a congratulatory remarks which were made by pro-rector of the Kazakh National UniversityBurkitbayev M.M., Dean of the Faculty of Oriental Studies Zhubatova B.N. After the official greeting the rector of the KNU officially cut the ribbon, and the Rector of the University of Tsukuba Caroline Benton established the emblem of office.

After the official opening, was held an international scientific conference on the theme "Japanese studies in Kazakhstan: Today and Tomorrow." During the conference there were discussions on the problems of the Japanese language and literature, and historical, political and economic problems of Kazakhstan and Japan.There was a further step for the development of Japanese studies not only in Kazakhstan but also throughout Central Asia.
