Ambassador Hour has been held at the Department of Turksoy, Faculty of Oriental Studies, Al-Farabi KazNU, which is devoted to strengthening of friendly relations between the peoples of Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan, and to promote the dissemination of culture of Turkic-speaking countries.

The event was held at the «Center for History and Culture of Azerbaijan». Its main goal was to develop educational and cultural ties between Al-Farabi Kazakh National University and Azerbaijani Universities.

After a welcoming speech by Dr. Yktiyar Paltore, Dean of the Faculty of Oriental Studies, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Azerbaijan to the Republic of Kazakhstan Rashad Mammadov Einaddinoglu gave a lecture on «Tragic January» about the events that took place in 1990.

The speaker’s thoughts on friendship, cultural dialogue between Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan aroused great interest of the audience. The Ambassador touched upon the issues of providing textbooks and fiction in the Azerbaijani language as well as conducting joint scientific conferences and student research.

Rashad Mammadov Einaddinoglu concluded his speech with the words: «In Azerbaijan, as in Kazakhstan, all the peoples of the world live peacefully! We have the same roots. We all need to work hard to strengthen our relations. I wish you health, prosperity, peace and unity!».

Students actively participated in the discussion, asked questions and expressed their opinion. 3rd-year student Tamina Nuriyeva made a presentation «Our Brotherly Country - Azerbaijan», 4th-year students Sabina Kanalieva and Dilnaz Tulegenova read poetry in Azerbaijani language.

Thanking the organizers of the event, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Azerbaijan, assured those present in his readiness to actively participate in strengthening relations between KazNU and the Universities of Azerbaijan.

In conclusion, Dean of the Faculty of Oriental Studies, PhD, Dr. Y. Paltore thanked Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Azerbaijan Rashad Mammadov Einaddinoglu for his contribution in the development of cooperation between the educational organizations and Universities of Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan, and handed him a «Letter of Appreciation».
