In the program article «Rukhani Zhangiru: Bolashakka Bagdar», the First President-Leader of the Nation N.A. Nazarbayev highlighted that one of the main conditions for the modernization of public consciousness is the understanding that «Education is the most fundamental factor for success in the future». Universities, as an important subjects in the formation of human capital, must provide a new quality of education based on advanced technologies with an emphasis on spiritual and moral education. 

Important events of world significance will be held on September 18-19 in Kazakhstan at the country’s leading university – Al-Farabi KazNU, which are aimed primarily at realizing the goals of the state program «Rukhani Zhangiru», increasing the competitiveness of the domestic higher education system and exporting educational services.

Given the growing role of KazNU in the global scientific and educational space and the phenomenal breakthrough in the ranking, the QS decided to hold a Global Forum at Kazakhstani University – the QS World Wide entitled «Journey to Global Prominence: Harmony of Human Heritage and Advanced Technology». This forum is a unique and it is the world’s largest platform for the exchange and dissemination of the best practices in the field of science and higher education.

Al-Farabi KazNU is deliberately working on the implementation of an important state task set by the First President of the country – Elbasy Nursultan Nazarbayev – to enter the top 200 best HEIs in the world. This year, in the internationally recognized and authoritative international QS ranking «World University Rankings», KazNU - the only University in Central Asia to enter the number of the best Universities in the world and it took 207 place.

KazNU, being a co-founder of the Alliance of Universities of the Silk Road, uniting more than 130 leading HEIs in the world, is actively working on a number of major projects, including the creation of an international IT Technopark. Therefore, holding a meeting of the General Assembly of this authoritative international organization in KazNU is logical. The subject of discussion will be issues of collaboration and integration in the field of higher education, the implementation of joint scientific, educational, cultural and humanitarian projects and other areas of interaction.

Leading the Global Hub of the UN Academic Impact Program for Sustainable Development for three consecutive terms, KazNU has developed a model of a new generation of higher education institutions – University 4.0. It is being implemented on the basis of the concept of «Al-Farabi University Smart City», the core of which is the ideas of the great thinker Al-Farabi and it is based on a symbiosis of high-tech and spiritual-moral platforms. This promising model of University development that meets global trends was presented at the UN headquarters in New York at the Alliance of Civilizations forum and it was recommended for widespread dissemination at the international level. An important component of the model is the social responsibility of the University to society. Given the innovative experience of KazNU, the University Social Responsibility Network holds a special Workshop. The USRN brings together leading social responsibility Universities from different continents. KazNU is the only HEI representing the CIS countries in this authoritative organization along with such well-known Universities as Manchester, Cambridge, Beijing, Washington, Sao Paulo and others.

Another important event will be the Global Congress entitled «The Role of Youth in Realizing the Sustainable Development Goals – 2030», organized by the Foundation of the First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan – Elbasy, KazNU and the international G-Global Secretariat.

It should be noted that events of a high international level will bring together leaders of more than 400 leading Universities from all over the world, representatives of government agencies and business, famous scientists, experts and leaders of the academic community. They will participate in the discussion and creating of a new model for the future development of Universities in the framework of the integration of education, science, advanced technologies and spiritual values. The forum program is very rich and include plenary sessions, panel discussions, business meetings and the signing of Memorandums of Cooperation as well as an exhibition of the achievements of leading HEIs in the world.

Holding of the world-class events testifies to the growing authority of Kazakhstan and, undoubtedly, it will contribute to the dynamic development of higher education in the country and attract investment in this important area.
