The 9th Speech contest with participation of Hanyang and Namseul Universities (Korea) was held at KazNU.

The competition was held in two stages. The first stage was the written test of students from Kazakhstan, Russia, Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan. The best contestants were invited to the Speech contest, where guests from Korean Universities were invited as judges - Director of the International Cooperation Department of the Namseul University, Professor Yong Tae Hoon, Manager of the International Cooperation Department, Professor Choi Ying Uk, Professor Men DV, Senior Lecturers. Chang Beng Sung, Myong Sung Ok.

The students demonstrated their skills on the following topics: «Why do I study Korean?», «My first trip to Korea», «Korean Medicine and Me», «K-Pop» and etc.

The performance of the contestants was evaluated according to the following criteria: content, logical and compositional organization of speech, depth of reasoning, originality, emotionality, demonstration of the spiritual values ​​of the speaker, contact with the audience, public speaking methods, and language design of speech.

According to the results of the competition, the 1st place was awarded to the 2nd year student of KazNU, on the specialty «Oriental Studies» - Aruzhan Bakumbaykyzy. 2nd place was given to the ENU’s student, Anel Toktarbekova. A 2nd year student of KazNU - Ulzhan Alimzhanova, with a degree in «Translation Studies», has won the 3rd place. The 4th place was taken by the 2nd year student Aruzhan Serikkan in the specialty «Translation». Also, by decision of the jury, a special prize was awarded to a 2nd year student of KazNU in the specialty «Translation Studies», Gulimbibi Kayyrliyeva.

The winners received certificates. The winner of the I place gained the right to study in the Master's program at Hanyang University, the other winners will be trained at the Namseul University for one year.
