Congratulations to Nurkenov Tulendi Tuleshovich, a second year PhD-student of the Department of Biodiversity and Bioresources of the Faculty of Biology and Biotechnology of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University with a victory in the competition of the grant program for support of research and training of post-doctoral students (PhD). Type «A» Grant Program within the framework of the World Bank's «Stimulating Productive Innovations» project!

The aim of the program is to strengthen the scientific potential of Kazakhstan by providing grants for research internships and research for candidates for PhD, postgraduate students and researchers in leading foreign universities and recognized research centers, in priority technical areas with the possibility of adopting research into production.

Thus, the doctoral student Nurkenov T.T. will be able to continue work on the thesis under the subproject “Investigation of the neuroprotective properties of Limonium Gmelini extract with ischemic brain damage” at the Department of Bioengineering of the College of Engineering and the University of Illinois at Chicago College of Medicine – the oldest state research university of the USA under the control of the domestic and foreign scientific consultants, doctor of biological sciences, professor Shalakhmetova T.M. and James C-M. Lee, Ph.D. (University of Illinois at Chicago).

The victory of the doctoral student Nurkenov T.T. in the competition is a good example of a successful scientific collaboration of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University with local and international partners.
