At to the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University specially arrived 16 students and 2 professors from the University of Salzburg, Austria at the faculty of history, archeology and ethnology. During the trip, the guests got acquainted with the structure and functioning of the faculty, and also attended lectures by leading professors of the faculty Zhumagulov K.T. “The Role of the Huns in the History of Eurasia”, Tuleubaev A.T. "New archaeological excavations discovered on the territory of Kazakhstan", Erekesheva L.G. “Contemporary History of Central Asia”. In addition, was organized a campus tour of “Kazgugrad” , and excursions to museums on the basis of KazNU, such as the “Museum of Al-Farabi KazNU”,“ Museum of Al-Farabi ”,“ Museum of Paleolithic of Kazakhstan ”,“ Museum of ancient and medieval archeology of Kazakhstan ”. The guests also got acquainted with the infrastructure of Almaty, in particular, visited the Central State Museum of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the State Historical and Cultural Reserve-Museum "Esik".

The leading professor at the University of Salzburg, Dr. Angela Shottenhammer, underlined the fact that the visit gave a great impetus to both parties, and priorities for student exchanges between the two schools, lecturers, joint projects, and were voiced the need for further cooperation with teachers in these areas .

The teachers and students of both countries also exchanged views and established new contacts.
