Professors of the Far East Department Ninomiya Takashi and Em Natalya participated in the Tsukuba Global Science Week 2018 on the theme of Driving Sustainable Development, which took place in September 20-22, 2018 at the Tsukuba International Congress Center.

Tsukuba University is the most reliable partner of the department for more than 20 years. In 2015 as a result of the initiative of the rector KazNU Mutanov G.M. opportunities for cooperation were increased along with the programs of academic mobility with the Tsukuba University. The "Campus on campus" agreement expanded the boundaries of academic mobility for students of many faculties of KazNU, and also opened the doors of our university to Japanese students. In addition, the program of a double degree in the field of Oriental Studies is being developed, and more than 100 science disciplines are submitted for consideration to Japanese students on the platform of the University of Tsukuba.

The activity of the Scientific and Educational Center for the Study of Japan and Central Asia expanded the range of scientific interests of partner universities, which led to an increase in scholarship programs, as well as joint scientific projects.

As a result of one of these projects, jointly with the Center for the Study of Central Asia, the results of the research "People on the Country" as seen from Central Asia were presented. The director of the Center at the University of Tsukuba, Professor ONO Masaki noted the impact of the reports presented by professors Ninomiya Takashi and Em Natalia at the conference, as well as the most significant role of KazNU in the scientific activities of the Center.
