KazNU named after al-Farabi start the new academic year with japanese partners

One of the priority partners of the Far East Department is the organization of an annual Winter Course by the University of WASEDA, Japan (Waseda University https://www.waseda.jp/top/en, a cooperation agreement from 2009) at the KazNU named after al-Farabi. During this period, there were held an annual international internship exchange programs for graduate and undergraduate students of partner universities. In addition, work is underway by the partner universities to compile educational and reference materials on the Japanese language.

In 2018-2019 due to the difference in the academic calendar, the period of the Winter School is postponed to autumn. The Far East Department organized a course of lectures and practical classes entitled "Modern Kazakhstan culture in the global world as part of the program of Ruhani Zhangyru". The course was prepared for undergraduate and graduate students of Waseda University (Tokyo, Japan) who arrived in the number of 7 people, headed by Professor Atsushi OGIHARA from 11 to 18 September 2018. The library of the laboratory Ogihara in KazNU was replenished with the gifts of Doctoral student of the University of Waseda Saito Atsushi, who brought textbooks and manuals on the Japanese Language.

The course of Waseda in KazNU also included the traditional project WAMIPOP. It is the Japanese food culture, where students organized an exhibition of Japanese cuisine from organic products grown by Kazakh and Japanese students in the Ogihara laboratory of Waseda University. The Homestay Program was organized for Japanese students. It is the living in Kazakh families for the practice of acquaintance with the Kazakh culture. Encouraged students of partner universities build relationships at a new level. Japanese students start a new academic year in KazNU, and new students of KazNU are already ready to study at Waseda University on this scholarship program of the Japanese government. Good luck!
