"Smart and Resilient Cities"

On June 27, 2018 at the Kazakh National University named after al-Farabi was held a Round Table on "Smart and Resilient Cities". The round table was attended by researchers from the Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU): Dr. Timothy Sim, Dr. Derrick Ho, Dr. Junlei Yu, Dr. Yung Hoy Wing, Justina, Mr. Christopher Khor, who conduct a round table with the experience of Hong Kong on sustainable urban development (in the case of Hong Kong) and risk management in natural disasters.

PolyU, as the leading university in Hong Kong, has demonstrated its readiness for close cooperation with KazNU on such aspects as the development of joint projects, academic mobility of students, holding joint conferences and scientific internships. PolyU has demonstrated its leadership in scientific and technical research in both Hong Kong and the world and is ranked 6th in QS Top 50 Under 50; 27th place in the ranking of QS University among Asian countries; 95th place in the ranking of universities QS World University in 2018, which is an indicator of significant scientific achievements.

This meeting is the beginning of a large-scale cooperation between the scientists of the Polytechnic University of Hong Kong and the university and academic community of Kazakhstan on the Sustainable Development Goals of UN.
