RESTART OF SOCIOLOGICAL KNOWLEDGE 

A round table entitled «Sociology: New Textbooks for New Generation» was held in Almaty. Participants of the event - leading experts-sociologists, teachers of social and humanitarian Departments of HEI's of the Southern capital and representatives of Research Institutes discussed important issues of integration into the educational process of new sociological textbooks published in Kazakh language within the framework of the project «New Humanitarian Knowledge. 100 new textbooks in Kazakh language».

The event was organized by the Kazakhstan Institute for Strategic Studies under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan (KISI), the U38 Alliance of Universities, the National Translation Agency and the Association of Sociologists of Kazakhstan. 

Opening the work of the round table, the Chairman of the U38 Alliance, Vice-Rector of Al-Farabi KazNU Sholpan Jamanbalaeva, highlighted that «Today the process of introducing new textbooks into the educational process requires systematic work of Universities on changing the content of curricula and methods of teaching subjects, including Sociology. KazNU as the leading center of sociological education is ready to present its developments and provide methodological assistance to other Universities». 

As noted by Head of the Division of Socio-Economic Research at KISI under the President of the RK, Doctor of Sociology, Professor, Lyazzat Nurkatova, replenishment of the library fund with new sociological textbooks will serve as the catalyst for the development of state sociology. 

During the round table the Head of the Department of Sociology and Social Work of KazNU, Doctor of Sociological Sciences, Professor Gulmira Abdiraimova presented a methodical guide on the introduction of two new textbooks on Sociology developed by the author's team of the Department. In which the following parameters have been taken into consideration: level of functionality and complexity, level of formation of values, profile of specialization that made it possible to develop the most specific recommendations for introduction of textbooks on Sociology in the educational process for social, humanitarian, natural and technical specialties. 

As a result of constructive discussions, the round table participants concluded that it is necessary to develop multi-level mechanisms for introducing new textbooks in all domestic Universities.
