According to the results of sectoral and subject-specific ranking of the best universities in the world "QS World University Rankings by Subject" al-Farabi KazNU is the first time Kazakhstan was ranked 301 in the area of "Humanities and arts", where the specialty "Contemporary linguistics" noted in the group of 101-150 best universities in the world

It should be noted that KazNU is only Kazakhstan University, presented in the sectoral ranking of QS. Joining the University in the QS for the Humanities is the result of a huge system work held at KazNU of the transformation into a research University of international level.

In the subject and industry rankings in the QS in 2018 1130 ranked universities in the world for 48 specialties and five subject areas: "Science", "Social Sciences", "Humanities and arts", "Life Science and medicine", "Technical science and engineering".
