“Modern economist: reactivation of profession"

The Higher School of Economics and Business held a round table “Modern economist: reactivation of profession" in the context of State of the Nation Address by the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev of January 10, 2018 "NEW OPPORTUNITIES UNDER THE FOURTH INDUSTRIAL REVOLUTION", attended by the faculty of the Higher School of Economics and Business, students, undergraduates and doctoral students.

The dean of the Higher School of Economics and Business, Doctor of Economics, Professor R.K. Sagieva emphasized in her opening speech the aims and tasks of training modern economists under the fourth industrial revolution.

Such issues as the role of economic education, the 4th industrial revolution in the conditions of the "digital economy", intelligent technologies in the development of the agro-industrial complex, modernization of human capital as a basis for modernizing society were discusses in the context of the round table.

In the speech of A.N. Turginbayeva, Professor of “Management and Marketing” department, PhD, were highlighted the characteristics of the 4th industrial revolution, the problems of training personnel for the economy in such conditions. The role of economic education in the formation of "University 4.0" and its current state of non-compliance with needs were discussed. "University 4.0" is defined as a system of reproduction of professional economists, and one of the main factors in the creation of the "University 4.0" model was the system of motivation and creativity of the faculty that participates in the reproduction of economists.

Director of the Center for Economic Research, Doctor of Economic Sciences, Professor S.T. Ziyadin stressed the importance of the transition to the digital economy, as it should lead to a drastic change in different sectors of the economy. According to professor, the main goal of "University 4.0" in such conditions is to launch a digital technology system in the country, keeping pace with the global trend.

Furthermore, the round table focused on the necessary spiritual and moral characteristics of the graduate of "University 4.0" system. Giving knowledge is a universal way of transforming culture and history from generation to generation. We must look for ways of further development and preserve national values and norms at the same time. In this regard, along with the training of highly qualified specialists, it is very important to educate highly moral, spiritually wealthy individuals.

As part of the implementation of the State of the Nation Address by the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev "NEW OPPORTUNITIES UNDER THE FOURTH INDUSTRIAL REVOLUTION", the Higher School of Economics and Business of KazNU after al-Farabi approved a set of activities that contribute to the transition to the model "University 4.0", including the actualization of themes of final theses, master and doctoral dissertations, participation in competitions for grant financing, the implementation of international projects to strengthen the university's connection with the corporate sector and other issues.
