MDP CONTRIBUTES TO THE GLOBAL DISCUSSIONS AT UN SECURITY COUNCIL IN NYC

A group of MDP/GC students from Al Farabi KazNU have been invited to witness a historical speech of the President of Kazakhstan. President Nursultan Nazarbayev will speak on non-proliferation of nuclear weapon at the UN Security Council, in New York City on January 18, 2018. This speech coincides with Kazakhstan's presidency over the UN Security Council - another historical event for the Republic of Kazakhstan.

The UN Security Council. Under the Charter, the Security Council has primary responsibility for the maintenance of international peace and security around the world. The UN SC has 15 Members, and each Member has one vote. Under the Charter, all Member States are obligated to comply with UN Security Council decisions.

The students have come from Al Farabi KazNU to New York City as a part of MDP/GC educational academic exchange program. During ten-days visit they are to meet and learn from leading practitioners and academics across multiple disciplines.
