Students of al-Farabi Kazakh National University (KazNU) celebrated the New Year on the eastern calendar. Colorful annual concert on the occasion of the Spring united universities' Youth of Almaty city.

On the concert, the organizers and the participants talked about "Chungjie" celebration traditions, especially in China, its history, which has more than 2000 years, it began to celebrate from 140-86 BC, the traditions of the Chinese people, and other interesting facts related with it. "Spring Festival" is the holiday in China, for the Chinese is the most important holiday.

The representatives of the Confucius Institute of al-Farabi Kazakh National University expressed admiration of events and colorful concert program. Students of the Department of Chinese Studies KazNU sang songs in Chinese, and dragon dance taijiquan, which is a symbol of spring.

At the end of the concert program, rewarding the winners of competitions was held in the framework of the "Week of Sinology".
