In the main building of KazNU named after al-Farabi on the G-Global platform was held online conference "Learning the Japanese language in Kazakhstan and Japan: Present and Future", organized by the Faculty of Oriental Studies (Department of the Far East) with the support of scientific and educational center of Japan and Central Asian Studies (University of Tsukuba office in Almaty). The purpose of this event: the further strengthening of relations between the University of Tsukuba and the KazNU named after al-Farabi, the analysis of contemporary techniques of leaning Japanese language and discussion problem points.

The welcoming speech for participants and guests of the conference was delivered by the Head of Department of the Far East, the candidate of historical sciences, associate professor Em N. B. An online video conference was attended by Professor of the University of Tsukuba Ono Masaki, a doctoral student of the University of Tsukuba Ju Hyonju, head of the Japanese branch of the Department of Far East Shadaeva M.T, graduated student of the Japanese branch of the Far East Department Baltabekova S. At the end of the conference the sides discussed actual questions about future cooperation.

Relations between the KazNU named after al-Farabi and the University of Tsukuba began in October 2007. Since then there have been several conferences and seminars in collaboration with the University of Tsukuba. Moreover in 2009 the 7th international conference and in 2013 the 10th conference of the University of Tsukuba were held in KazNU. In 2015, in honor of the scientific and educational center of Japan and Central Asian Studies (University of Tsukuba office in Almaty) was also conducted  scientific seminar. The Video conference was the first one.
