On September 22^nd 2016 the general Consul of Korea in Kazakhstan visited the Department of Far Eastern at faculty of Oriental Studies in Al-Farabi Kazakh National University. Mr. John Seong Min held a special lecture on the topic “The Republic of Kazakhstan - the center of Eurasia”. The lecture was devoted to students, undergraduate students of Department of Far Eastern of the faculty of Oriental studies. The Meeting of students with the General Consul helped to discover and to identify similarities and differences in culture, history and tradition between Kazakhstan and Korea. During the meeting students asked for their questions, in the conclusion of the event thanked the General Consul with the loud of applauses. The continuation of the event was picnic with the teachers and students of the Korean Studies, as a guest was General Consul of Korea John Son Min.

At the picnic we could have spent pleasant and interesting time, where all the participants could have a chance to get acquaintance with each other due to the entertaining games through having lunch together. Thus, The meeting with the General Consul of Korea is becoming as an tradition which will assist to enhance the students' understanding about Korean studies, and also assist to strengthen the mutual relations and further cooperation.
