National Olympiad of the Chinese language
Department of Chinese Studies Faculty of Oriental Studies, in conjunction with the Confucius Institute held republican Olympiad in the Chinese language. Olympiad was held on March 30, 2010 from 10.00 to 16.00 hours in the building of the Faculty of Oriental Studies in the 509 audience. In the Olympiad were attended 25 students from 6 higher educational institutions, which to teach Chinese language:
1. KNU named after al-Farabi
2. Kazakh - Turkish University named after Yassaui. (Turkestan)
3. Kazakh - Chinese Language College.
4. KazUIR&WL named after Abylay khan
5. Kazakh - Chinese University (Kyzylorda)
6. Military Institute of the Republic of Kazakhstan
The jury was as follows:
- Jury President - Deputy Director of the Confucius Institute, Ms Zhang Jian Fan.
- First Secretary of the Consulate of China in Almaty, Mr. Yu Quan Gao.
- Editor of magazine "Korshi", Mr. Ibrahim Fayzulla.
- Representative of the Bank of China in Kazakhstan, Mr. Gao Hai.
According to the results of 2 rounds the following participants received consolation prizes:
1. Alaev Sahid - KNU named after al-Farabi
2. Shunshalieva Mira -KNU named after al-Farabi
3. Shukanova Aigerim-KNU named after al-Farabi
4. Tokkarina Aizhan - KNU named after al-Farabi
The following 3 participants have received 3nd place:
1. Tagaev Janela - KNU named after al-Farabi
2. Zhunisova Makpal - KNU named after al-Farabi
3. Suleimenov Bakhtiar - Military Institute of the Republic of Kazakhstan
The following 2 participants have received 2nd place:
1. Tynyshbaev Aigerim - KNU named after al-Farabi
2. Karimov Kalzhan – Kazakh - Chinese Language College
The winner of the 1 st place and a grant to study in China, given China's consulate was a student of the Kazakh - Chinese university from Kyzylorda – Omarova Meyramkul.
