Together with the University of Greifswald (Germany) and the Department of Biodiversity and Bioresources of the Faculty of Biology and Biotechnology as part of a joint international project “Livestock in the Ile-Delta in a changing watercourse - impact on food security and adaptation strategies” was held a seminar on “Livestock in the Ili River Delta, in a changing watercourse”. April 2, 2019 at 11.00 in 12 classrooms of the Faculty of Biology and Biotechnology, the Department of Biodiversity and Bioresources held informative festive event "The great national holiday Nauryz". At the event, students shared their thoughts about the Kazakh national games, ceremonies, traditions, proverbs and sayings. The event ended with singing and dancing, decorated with national dishes.

On February 21, 2019, at 11.00 o'clock in the 10th class, a doctoral candidate of the 1st course of the specialty "6D061300-Geobotanika" Childibaeva Asel Zhumagulovna conducted an open laboratory lesson for the 1st year students of the specialty "5В060700-Biology" on the subject "Biodiversity of plants and animals" on the topic "Familiarization with classes dicotyledonous or magnoliopsidov, magnolia, water lily, barberry, buttercup families ”. The head of the Department of Biodiversity and Bioresources, Doctor of Biological Sciences, Acting Professor Kurmanbaeva MS, PhD Dr. Nurmakhanova AS, teachers Aldasugurova Ch.G., Erezhepova N.Sh. Laboratory lesson was held at a high level. The head of the department highly appreciated the systematic explanation of the material, the excellent organization of communication with students, the combination of the past and the new knowledge.

Al-Farabi KazNU held a huge celebration of Nauriz! Together with representatives of the Diplomatic corps and International Organizations, an apple orchard was planted. The grand event was dedicated to the biennium of the program «Ruhani Zhangiru» and the main provisions of the Elbasy’s article «Seven Facets of the Great Steppe».
A magnificent and fascinating musical and theatrical performance entitled the «Seven Facets of the Great Steppe», which is based on the article of the same name by the Elbasy, was organized in front of the Students’ Palace. The creative teams of the University have demonstrated the great achievements of the Kazakh steppe: riding culture, an ancient metallurgy and animal style, the Golden Man and the Great Silk Road, Kazakhstan as the cradle of the Turkic world – the Homeland of great thinkers and scientists, apples and tulips. The following Kazakh customs and traditions were presented to the public – «Tusau Kesser», «Shashu», «Kyz Uzatu» and others. The grand performance was ended by caravan procession and the words of blessing by Kydyr-ata!

As the First President N.Nazarbayev highlighted: «... the foothills of the Alatau are the historical homeland of apples and tulips» and it is quite symbolic that the holiday began with the planting of an apple orchard. Representatives of foreign Diplomatic Missions and International Organizations accredited in Kazakhstan, and prominent public figures and scholars, veterans and graduates of different years, representatives of the Media, teachers, students and their parents took part in it. They have planted more than 300 saplings of different varieties of apple trees, as well as valuable and decorative trees on campus alleys.

In KazNU Al-Farabi Nauryz holiday was celebrated! The greenhouse of the Department of Biodiversity and Bioresources, the Faculty of Biology and Biotechnology with various vegetables and fruits (strawberries, tomatoes and cucumbers) was shown to the guests who came to the holiday.
From 9 to 10 April 2019, the Farabi Alemi International Conference for students and young scientists was held at Al-Farabi Kazakh National University.

The festive concert dedicated to the International Women's Day – March 8, was held at Al-Farabi KazNU. It was opened by the congratulatory speech of KazNU’s Rector Galym Mutanov, in which he highlighted the great contributions of the female part of the University staff. «Most of the staff of KazNU are women, who always perform the assigned work with particular responsibility and carry the unity of the University team. Thanks to their efforts, they not only educate, but also guide our young people on the path of morality and goodness. They increase our success and move our society towards new horizons and discoveries. With such women, we can only be proud and always be ahead», - said Galym Mutanov.

On the eve of the Independence Day, the «Аlatau» winter garden was opened in KazNU.
More than 50 tropical and subtropical plants gathered here, including fountains and small architectural forms, places for students to relax and work. It will host classes and scientific internships for future biologists, geo-botanists, ecologists and other specialists, as well as excursions for schoolchildren and nature lovers.
The garden collection will continue to expand with rare and valuable plants, flowers and decorative compositions. Beautiful living environment has already become a place of attraction for creative youth and residents of the campus. Here they can usefully spend their time and relax, attend special eco-trainings, take part in caring for plants and learn more about nature.

EXCURSION TO BOTANICAL GARDEN On October 4, 2018, students of my curator group BB17-08K visited the Botanical Garden. They got acquainted with the main expositions of the botsad: “Japanese Garden”, “Greenhouse of tropical and subtropical plants”, “Dendrology of North and South America”. Students showed great curiosity, demonstrated their knowledge of the general course of botany. As a teacher, the department of biodiversity and bioresources has strengthened my opinion about the good preparation of our students. During the summer training practice, students who are deprived of the opportunity (for medical reasons) to go to the field can expand their knowledge of the biodiversity of the plant world on the basis of the Almaty Botanical Garden. |

Debate on the topic "IS THE CORRECTION OF THE KAZAKHSTAN CHILDREN BY ALIENS?" The educational work at the Faculty of Biology of the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University is given much attention. Teachers, while on duty, in the hostel number 7, find time to consult on the disciplines, and to hold various events on socially-significant topics. So, on October 25, 2018, the second year students of the specialty “Biology” (BB1708K and BB1703K) organized a debate on the topic “Is the adoption of Kazakh children by foreigners right?”. As they discussed and expressed their points of view, students showed genuine concern about this issue. It was nice to know that our students are people who think, who can empathize and are real citizens of their country! The future of Kazakhstan is in safe hands!

We are for a clean city! Almaty is the southern capital of our country! Almaty is a metropolis where the cultural life, scientific world and leading universities of the country are concentrated. Professors, teachers and, above all, the students of our university themselves for the purity of our souls, our university in every sense! This is our home where we arrive, work and study most of the daytime. Therefore, our students are actively responding to the public cleanups of the university and the city. Along with the staff and faculty, they go out together to clean and refine the territory of the student campus and nearby territories. The cleanliness of the university’s territory is a guarantee of the health of its inhabitants. |
