Academic mobility is one of the strategic directions of development of Al-Farabi KazNU. The Department of Far East of the Faculty of Oriental Studies annually sends students to universities in Japan and Korea under the academic mobility program.
Senior teacher of the Far East Department Serikbaeva Zaripa Asilbekovna became the owner of a grant from the Korea Foundation.
According to this annual tradition, from January 8 to 18, 2024, various competitions are held in the university’s gyms among teachers and other employees of KazNU as part of the sports competition.This year, teachers of the Far East Department of the Faculty of Oriental Studies actively participated in the competitions of the Spartakiad, including B.M. Kydyrbaev, U. Kabdelova, A.E. Saylaukenova, B.B. Begalieva.
My name is Sailau Hakim, this year I graduated from Al-Farabi Kazakh National University. In the end of 2022 year, I received the opportunity to participate in a study program in Japan and studied for a full year at one of the best higher education institutions in Japan, Waseda University in Tokyo.
December 14, 2023. At the Far East Department, a seminar was held with the participation of students of the 3rd year of the Department of Japanese Studies on the topic: SDGs 2: Eliminating hunger, ensuring food security, improving nutrition and promoting sustainable development of agriculture.
On December 12, 2023, an international forum was held among students of Sofia University named after Kliment Orchidski (Bulgaria), Canakkale University (Turkey) and Moscow City Pedagogical University and Al-Farabi Kazakh National University.
As part of the achievement of the UN SDGs by the university and its further popularization among students and teaching staff, the Department of Far East of the Faculty of Oriental Studies of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University regularly hosts social and educational events of a cognitive nature.
On Wednesday, November 29, 4th year students of the Faculty of Oriental Studies of the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University held an open lesson on the nuances of article headlines in the Korean press and the difficulties of translating them.
In the framework of striving for active participation in social life and formation of civic responsibility among students, a social and educational event was held at the Far East Department, Faculty of Oriental Studies, Kazakh National University Al-Farabi. The theme of the event - "SDG 1: Eradicate poverty in all its forms" was chosen not by chance, reflecting the relevance of social issues in modern society.
