Tour of the Biological Museum

On November 8, 2019, students 2nd year of specialty "5B060700-Biology" visited the Biological Museum of the al-Farabi Kazakh National University. The Biological Museum of KazNU was founded in 1936, first as a Zoological Museum at the Department of Zoology of the faculty of biology, and then in 1949 it was reorganized into the biological Museum of the faculty. The modern life of the Biomuseum began with the opening of the showroom and external dioramas in 1984, during the celebration of the 50th anniversary of the University. The Biological Museum of KazNU is unique not only for the Republic of Kazakhstan, but also for the whole CIS.

The purpose of the tour: to acquaint students with the diversity of flora and fauna of the Republic of Kazakhstan, to foster careful attitude towards nature, to increase knowledge of students in biology.

"Psychological aspects of adaptation of freshmen to the conditions of study at the University"

October 25, 2019 at 14: 00 at the Department of Biophysics and Biomedicine held a round table on the theme: "Psychological aspects of adaptation of freshmen to the conditions of study at the University". As a result of the roundtable were identified the following main problems arising in the adaptation of freshmen to study at the University (in descending order of their importance):
- insufficient level of school knowledge in many disciplines;
- inability to allocate their time and effort;
- unwillingness to work with a large amount of new information;
– the lack of the usual control and supervision on the part of parents, teachers;
- lack of readiness for training based on full independence;
- lack of readiness to meet the high requirements of teachers;
- the lack of some students ' diligence, willpower, and most importantly – the desire to learn.
