Advanced Industrial Informatics and Industrial controllers laboratory

One of the main tasks of the methodical support of the department is the development of the structural and logical schemes of the educational curriculum for the undergraduate degree in the specialty 5B070200 "Automation and Control" (AIU). The proposed scheme of PMO has a number of innovative solutions that allow to adapt the taught disciplines to existing international educational standards. First, the student workload is evenly distributed over terms of semesters, and secondly, the PMU has a strict relationship between the pre- and post-requisites of the subjects studied. In addition, the plan provides for intensive training in a foreign language, microprocessor technology, mathematical methods of optimization, automation of production processes and the adoption of managerial decisions. This will ensure the qualitative training of engineers - system engineers, programmers for the efficient operation of modern unmanned automated technological robotic lines with remote computer control. This approach is widely used in developing countries for a modern technology transfer and is called Total Integrated Automation (TIA) Portal. For this purpose, it was decided to provide modern training and production training for graduates of KazNU named after al-Farabi with specialization "Automation and management of technological processes". The most advanced and affordable in our computer market similar equipment is a series of microcontrollers of the German transnational corporation SIEMENS, which is among the three most advanced electrical companies in the world. Establishment of connections for the purchase of German equipment by SIEMENS company as a whole meets our interuniversity and international scientific and methodological requirements both through the Tempus-Medis program and in the preparation of undergraduates and PhDs in the field of Automation and Control. It should be noted that laboratories with old and new equipment from SIEMENS "imprisoned" for specific industries are available in many leading technical universities in Kazakhstan, which successfully prepare specialists for the scarcely vacant workplaces of "programmers of automated process control systems" and "programmers for system engineering" mining and metallurgical industry and oil and gas sector of the country's economy. Classical universities in Kazakhstan mainly created similar laboratories that allow general theoretical and scientific training of specialists in the field of modern automation.

In the disciplines related to practical applications, machine-oriented programming languages are considered. Assembler, programming languages of STL, LAD, FBD, and object-oriented programming languages are partially reoriented by solving a number of practically important tasks on the SCADA simulator - the WinCC system. Master's graduates with the specialization "Automation and process control" will also be familiarized with such technical and software tools for modeling and design of control systems as Hardware-in-the-Loop-Simulation and Software-in-the-Loop-Simulation, which are widely used in different branches of industry. In conclusion, we note that as automation with all branches of its application is a special interdisciplinary field, this requires the creation of a concept of inter-faculty master programs. We think that it would be advisable to unite the teaching potential in the field of automation available at various faculties of the university in order to offer an inter-faculty master's program for graduates of the baccalaureate in instrument-making, machine building, oil and gas and chemical technologies, electrical engineering and informatics.
