І General situation

These rules of the Republican Olympiad on the basis of the Faculty of History, Archeology and Ethnology of the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University on World History and History of Kazakhstan, determine the procedure for conducting, participating in the Olympiad and determining the winners.

 The Republican Olympiad is an annual event and is held by the Department of History, Archeology and Ethnology of the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University.

Goals and objectives of the Olympiad:

1) Search for talented, loving native history of intellectuals among students of secondary schools.

2) Increasing students' interest in studying the history of Kazakhstan (Kazakh Eli).

3) Assisting students in vocational guidance, self-realization and self-development.

4) Identification of the degree of proficiency in students of cultural thinking, erudition.

5) Stimulation of research and teaching activities of students;

6) Assistance to the formation of the intellectual potential of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

 

ІІ Procedure for organizing and conducting Republican Olympiad

The Olympiad will be held in two rounds.

1 Rules for the 1st round of the Olympiad:

The first round - qualifying - is held from 8 to 20 January 2019 online.

Each participant must register on the site http://online-test.kaznu.kz and select the test "Olympiad in the history of Kazakhstan and world history."

1) In the first round - each participant of the Olympiad performs assignments on world history and the history of Kazakhstan from ancient times to the present in the form of tests. The number of tests is 100, with five answers, one of which is correct. The time to complete the task is 60 minutes. Participants must score at least 50% of the total points for testing.

2) A participant can only be tested once;

3) The countdown is conducted for each student individually from the moment of his entry into the testing system.

The order of the 1st round:

Register (full name, email address, telephone ...);

Choose a test - Olympiad in the History of Kazakhstan and World History

Choose a testing language;

Start testing.

Note:

1) A participant can register on the site http://online-test.kaznu.kz, and be tested using his login and password;

2) The participant can participate in the 1st round where there is access to the Internet (at school, at home, etc.);

3) The participant can be tested only once, the re-passing of the test will not be read out by the organizing committee;

4) If during testing the participant accidentally closes the page or browser, he can re-enter with his username and password, then click on the “results” tab, then click on the first test (where it says “Status is not finished”).

 

2 The second round is held March 28-29, 2019.

1) In the second round, participants participate scored at least 50% of the total points for testing. The second round of creative. Participants must send research projects from March 1-10, 2019 to: olimpiada.tarih@mail.ru on the topics suggested below:

- Museums of Kazakhstan

- Archaeological sites of Kazakhstan

- Culture and life of the peoples of Kazakhstan

- The place of Kazakhstan in the world community

- Great Silk Road

- The medieval civilization of the East

- Problems of humanism in Western Europe

- Alash movement

- Modern Kazakhstan culture

- Ways of spiritual revival of Kazakhstan

- Historical figures of Kazakhstan

- Sacral tourism

- The program "Native Land"

- The significance of the concepts of "Kazakh Eli" and "Mogіlіk El"

 

2) The results of the second round will be posted on the website of the Faculty of History, Archeology and Ethnology of the Kazakh National University. Al-Farabi www.kaznu.kz March 15, 2019.

3) The design of the project should include: title page, content, introduction (the introduction must include: project goals and objectives, relevance, level of research, the covered chronological framework), main part, conclusion, used literature, application.

4) The title of the chapters, content, introduction and conclusion are written in capital letters, the rest of the text is lowercase.

5) Research projects must be at least 25 pages, Times New Roman font, font size14, margins (upper and lower) 2 cm, left 3 cm, right 1 cm.

6) When defending a scientific project, the use of posters, presentations and other illustrative materials is encouraged.

7) Evaluation of the answers of participants in the Olympiad is carried out on a 100-point scale. The maximum score is 100, the minimum score is 70.

8) The working languages ​​of the Olympiad are Kazakh and Russian.

 

ІІІ Participants of the Republican Olympiad

1) Pupils of 10-11 grades of secondary schools of the Republic of Kazakhstan take part in the Republican Olympiad.

2) In the first round, the number of participants is unlimited.

3) In the second round, the winners of the first round take part with the highest points.

4) Following the results of the first round, a list of participants of the second round is compiled and communicated to the participants.

5) The list is approved by the organizing committee of the Olympiad.

6) Participation in the Republican Olympiad registration, without payment.

7) Owners of the best works on the results of the second round will be invited to the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University of Almaty to protect their research projects and identify the winner (March 28-29, 2019).

8) Invited participants of the Olympiad will be provided with free accommodation, food and a tour of the KazNU campus.

9) Travel expenses are paid by senders.

 

ІV Organizing Committee and the jury of the Republican Olympiad

1. The composition of the organizing committee is approved by order of the dean of the Faculty of History, Archeology and Ethnology of the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University.

The organizing committee includes leading teachers of the Faculty of History, Archeology and Ethnology of the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University.

2. Functions of the Organizing Committee:

1) Direct management of the preparation and conduct of the Olympiad.

2) Approval of the jury.

3) Publication of an article on the conduct of the Republican Olympiad in the country's media.

3. The competition jury consists of a chairman, members and a secretary. The jury consists of leading teachers of the Faculty of History, Archeology and Ethnology of the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University.

4. The jury of the Olympiad:

1) Analyzes the results of the first and second rounds.

2) Submits proposals to the organizing committee on awarding the winners of the Olympiad.

 

V Awarding of winners of the Republican Olympiad on the basis of the Faculty of History, Archeology and Ethnology of the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University

All participants of the second round and winners will be awarded with diplomas and special prizes from the organizers.

INTRODUCTION

The introduction should contain a justification of the relevance of the chosen topic and the purpose of the work. To achieve this goal it is necessary to identify a number of tasks. Usually the introduction contains a review of the literature on the problem of interest to the author. Particular attention is paid to the analysis of sources, which shows the level of understanding by the author of the chosen topic, the correctness of the goal setting.

The introduction should show how well the author knows the literature on his topic, has he understood correctly, has he managed to clearly define the goal of the research and set tasks to achieve it.
