laboratory of advanced technologies "Konica Minolta" Kmlab

Educational and research laboratory for advanced technologies “Konica Minolta” (abbreviated to “KMLab”) was opened on the basis of the Chair of Printing and Electronic Mass media of the Faculty of Journalism of KazNU in June 2013 during the visit of the delegation of Konica Minolta. KMLab training sessions are conducted in English; students receive advanced knowledge about full-color printing technologies and acquire practical skills in printing and IT-spheres.

“Konica Minolta” is a well-known Japanese holding company, one of the world’s leading manufacturers of photocopiers, fax machines, laser printers, medical photographic equipments, optical components and measuring equipments. The company “Konica” exists since 1873, there was a merger with the company Minolta in 2003. The main direction of the company “Konica Minolta” is business technology. Being the leader in the development of the imaging device, “Konica Minolta” pays special attention to the development of technologies for document management and business solutions in the field of color printing and related products for enterprises and educational institutions.

During the training, the students, including Bachelors and Masters, got acquainted with the courses: “Academic motivation for the advanced technology of the transnational company KM: a case study of KMLab”, took part in master classes: “Konica Minolta presentation”, “Information technology development (IT) and their impact on human life”, “MPLUS & COMPASS (Modular Continuous Learning System Konica Minolta)”, “MFPs (Multifunction Devices)”, “CRD (corporate reprographic departments)”.
