Physics (MSc)

A graduate of the Physics (MSc) programme must possess the following knowledge, skills, and competences:

have profound knowledge about modern experimental, theoretical and numerical methods of studying physical phenomena and processes; issues related to the modern understanding of an organization structure of matter, fundamental physical laws and physical phenomena; latest scientific and technical achievements and trends as well as modern theoretical and applied problems in various fields of Physics;
know history of philosophy and science; basics of higher education pedagogy, psychology and management, theory and techniques of teaching Physics in higher educational institutions; one of foreign languages and Physics-related foreign-language terminology;
be able to handle large files of scientific date, work independently with various information sources, choose necessary research methods, modify existing methods and develop new ones based on concrete study tasks; freely orientate in fundamental and applied issues of the selected field of physics; use computer equipment and sophisticated algorithms to solve complex professional problems in a creative way; formulate and solve problems occurring during scientific-pedagogical activities and requiring profound professional knowledge; perform academic advising for students’ coursework and graduation papers;

demonstrate:

- understanding of the processes and phenomena of nature, and the unity of their relationship by knowing the basic human, social, and economic doctrines;

- the fundamental unity of science and its possibilities for further development of the global environmental problems;

- classify the resulting information for decision-making, planning and forecasting;

- using of scientific, reference, methodical literature on the specialty national and foreign languages;
