About faculty

    Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, striving to contribute to the development of the health care system and medicine in Kazakhstan and to reach the world level in the field of life sciences soon, opened the Faculty of Medicine in 2015. Currently, following the ongoing scientific research, the demanded educational programs for the training of specialists, the faculty has been called Medicine and Health. 

   DEAN OF THE FACULTY OF MEDICINE AND HEALTHCARE at the al-Farabi KazNU, doctor of medical sciences, professor KALMATAEVA ZHANNA AMANTAYEVNA.  

   The Faculty of Medicine and Health of Al-Farabi KazNU conducts high-quality training of medical workers, focusing on the best international and scientific educational programs using wide clinical practice and expert exchange. The faculty provides an opportunity to study educational programs at all levels - bachelor's, master's, internship, residency, doctoral, and postdoctoral studies to provide training according to new international standards based on the scientific achievements of modern health care. A wide range of paraclinical disciplines is an ideal platform for the implementation of scientific ideas and the introduction into clinical practice of the achievements of molecular biology, bio-, and nanotechnology, bioinformatics, biophysics, etc. 

    Leading scientists and leading specialists from Research Institutes, Research Centers of Kazakhstan, and visiting professors from near and far abroad (Russia, Ukraine, Belarus, Canada, Germany, Sweden, South Korea, etc.) also take part in teaching students. The teaching staff of the faculty has a high degree of degree, 25 teachers have diplomas from foreign universities (Great Britain, USA, Italy, South Korea), 78.5% of teachers teach in English. The faculty, thanks to active international cooperation with leading research centers and universities in the world, create real opportunities for foreign internships. More than 10 visiting professors from leading foreign universities regularly work at the faculty annually.
