Students of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University: Mohammad Abdulmadzhid, Faculty of Physical Education and Sport, 1st year and Aldash Nurdos, Faculty of Physical Education and Sport, 2nd year, took the fourth place in the 1st International Beach Volleyball Tournament "Burevestnik Cup."

From 2 to 4 November 2018 in Almaty, on the volleyball grounds of the KazNU, the first international beach volleyball tournament “Burevestnik Cup” took place, in which 16 pairs took part: Burevestnik team, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, from SKO, VKO, Almaty region, Chundzhy, from the Academy of Border Service and from the city of Almaty.

The goal of this tournament is not only to popularize beach volleyball and identify the strongest players in the national team of the country, but also to revive the legendary Almaty “ Burevestnik” club with its outstanding achievements on the world stage and rich volleyball traditions. It was our first tournament, but we hope that it will become annual, traditional and with a wider geography of the tournament.

Despite the cool weather for beach volleyball (+5), the tournament was held at a high organizational level in "hot" volleyball battles. The tournament organizers provided all players with a uniform game form (in different colors) with the logo of this tournament and hot meals.

In the 4-ku strongest hit 3 teams " Burevestnik" and Kyrgyzstan-1. Kyrgyz beachgoers, losing in the semi-finals to the favorites of the “ Burevestnik -1” tournament Sidorenko and Dyachenko, in the match for the 3rd place met our best youth pair “ Burevestnik -3” Aldash and Mohammad (winners of the Bronze medal of the Asian Championship U-19). In a bitter struggle, the guests managed to get a bronze medal.

Winners and prize-winners were awarded with diplomas, medals, cups and solid cash prizes.

I would like to express my sincere thanks to the Akimat of Almaty and the Kazakh National University named after Al-Farabi for their active support of beach volleyball and help in organizing this tournament.
