DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH POLICY AND MANAGEMENT OF THE MEDICAL FACULTY-HIGHER SCHOOL OF PUBLIC HEALTH
The Department of Health Policy and Management of the Medical Faculty- HSPH was established in June 2016. The aim was training and providing knowledge for the specialists in the field of public health, professional development courses for head authorities of clinics and agencies in the area of management, marketing, economics and pharmacy in the context of health reform.
The department provides special courses on management in the field of public health for masters. These disciplines study the issues of management, economics, quality management and legal support for the work of medical organizations.
The department teachers have many years of experience in research and scientific areas in the field of health management and economics. For many years they have collaborated with international organizations, the Ministry of Health, regional and city health departments of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
The head of the Department is doctor of medical Sciences, Professor Gulnara Kapanova. Employees of the Department actively work in all areas: educational, research, consulting and expert activities in the field of health management, public health and health care, health promotion and disease prevention, management psychology, economic analysis of public health programs, management of research projects, strategic planning, etc. This is the doctor of medical Sciences, Professor Gulnur Tanbayeva, PhD Altynay Balmukhanova., candidate of medical Sciences, associate Professor Bayhonova Kini Sagymbaeva, candidate of legal Sciences, associate Professor maulenov Bakhyt Osipovna.
According to the results of the rating of departments of the University according to the indicative plan in 2017, our Department took the First place in the KazNU.
The Department also carries out training of specialists on courses of improvement of qualification and retraining of personnel in the short, medium and long-term programs.
In 2019, we redesigned all the programs, and also opened a new direction for the 8D101 doctorate-Medicine, where the program is aimed at training researchers in the field of medicine and involves training in two areas - precision medicine and mathematical modeling.
Also in 2019, an innovative master's program for training research nurses (management of clinical trials and management of electronic registers) has been developed, and a new 2-year program for health management has been developed.
All programs are included in the register of educational programs of the Ministry of education and science of the Republic of Kazakhstan, approved by experts and employers.
Currently, the Department also trains foreign students from Mongolia and Afghanistan.
