Al-Farabi KazNU held the XIV International Ornithological Conference of Northern Eurasia.

More than 300 ornithologists from 18 countries near and far abroad discuss topical issues of fundamental and practical ornithology and prospects of its development.

At the opening of the conference welcoming remarks were made by scientists from Great Britain, Germany, Russia, Ukraine and other countries. The conference will focus on the results of ornithological research in the wider region of Northern Eurasia over the last five years. The reports on the full spectrum of actual problems of fundamental and practical ornithology were presented. Scientists will also discuss promising directions ornithological research, and the preparation and publication of faunal summaries in the region, promotion of ornithology and further development of its applied aspects, including issues of conservation and management of birds.
