Weekend tour to peak Furmanov
“Weekend Tour to Furmanov Peak”
On February 8, 2015, a weekend tour to ascend the Furmanov peak was organized by the Department of Recreation Geography and Tourism. Weekend tour was attended by students and teachers of the Department of Recreation Geography and Tourism, as well as by Master students of the Faculty of Chemistry and Chemical Technology. The purpose of this event was to apply theoretical knowledge in practice by students. Participants gathered at the bus stop opposite to "Kazakhstan" hotel at 8:00 a.m. 1st year students acquainted with the technique and tactics of passing the route through the snowy terrain. This tour has been organized within the framework of the project "The Cult of a Healthy Body" to enhance physical fitness of students and teachers, to show the natural beauty of the mountains in winter. All students were in a good mood despite the fatigue, and expressed a desire to organize this event with same route in spring.
