Al-Farabi Kazakh National University as the major educational and research center in Kazakhstan renowned for its innovative development of higher education and research, ranks the first in the general university rating of Kazakhstan. The University was the first among Kazakhstan educational institutions to be awarded the Prize of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan “For Outstanding Quality Achievements”.
The al-Farabi Kazakh National University was founded on January 15, 1934. It is the largest higher education institution and scientific centre in Kazakhstan and consistently ranks first among the country’s universities. The university consists of 13 academic departments that offer more than 180 degree programmes (at Bachelor, Master and Ph.D. levels) to more than 20,000 students.
