International Conference "Respiratory Junction Almaty: Where East meets West"

Faculty of Medicine and Health of the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, Almaty, expresses you deep respect and invites you and the faculty of your university to take part in the International Conference "Respiratory Junction Almaty: Where East meets West". This conference will be held on April 1-2, 2019 in the framework of the annual forum "VI International Farabian Readings" of the al-Farabi Kazakh National University.

The goal of the Conference is the regular exchange of knowledge between leading pulmonary experts of the East and the West. The mission of our Conference is to globally shift the standards of pulmonary care through dialogue and the transfer of knowledge on the latest advances in diagnosis and treatment.

We are confident that the International Conference "Respiratory Junction Almaty: Where East meets West" will become a popular annual international educational forum for discussions between experts from developed and developing countries on urgent problems of pulmonology, such as genetic lung diseases, severe bronchial asthma, comorbid conditions, professional lung diseases, etc.

In 2019, our Conference will focus on chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), in view of the global increase in the prevalence of this disease, and the high burden for patients and national health systems.

We are pleased to announce that the key speaker at the International Conference “Respiratory Junction Almaty: Where will meets West” 2019 will be one of the world's leading experts on COPD – Pr. Claus Vogelmeier, MD, Director of Internal Medicine Clinic University of Gießen and Marburg, School of Medicine, Chair of Science Committee Global Initiative for Chronic Obstructive Lung Disease (GOLD), Member of the German Centre for Lung Research (DZL), professor of Clinic for Pulmonary, Critical Care and Sleep Medicine Philipps-Universität Marburg (Marburg, Germany).

Within the framework of the International Conference, plenary and breakout sessions are scheduled, as well as a round table with the participation of Professor Claus Vogelmeier and leading pulmonologists of the countries of Central Asia, Central and Eastern Europe, and Southeast Asia. The International Conference announced reports on the review of the management of COPD in developed and developing countries, the use of computer algorithms for objective stratification of patients with COPD, experience of COPD by general practitioners, as well as professional COPD and research methodology for COPD.

Registration fee: participation with a certificate - 3000 tenge, students, interns, residents with a certificate - 1000 tenge, participation without a certificate is free of charge. Deadline for articles and abstracts: March 01, 2019
