On June 27, 2018 at the Kazakh National University named after al- will be held a round table on "Smart and Resilient Cities". The round table will involve a research group of representatives of the Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU) who will introduce participants to the round table with the experience of Hong Kong on sustainable urban development and disaster risk management.

PolyU, as a top university in Hong Kong, has demonstrated its strength and excellence in scientific and engineering research and applications in both Hong Kong and the World. The PolyU is proudly ranked as the 6th in the QS Top 50 Under 50; the 27th in the QS University Rankings: Asia; the 95th in the QS World University Rankings for 2018.

This meeting is the beginning of a large-scale cooperation between the scientists of the Polytechnic University of Hong Kong and the university and scientific community of Kazakhstan on the most important priorities of the UN Sustainable Development Goals.
