On February 14, 2018, the Faculty of International Relations of Al-Farabi Kazakh National university in cooperation with the Representative Office of the Konrad Adenauer Foundation in Kazakhstan is holding an international conference: "Energy trends in the Eurasian space".

The relevant issues of energy security, contradictory issues of cooperation and integration in the Eurasian space will be discussed during the conference. As is known, the process of political and economic transformation of the Eurasian space brings irreversible changes in the architecture of multiple interrelations, the influential factor of which is the market of energy carriers, first of all, oil, gas, peaceful atom.

Technological progress in the field of extraction and processing of energy raw materials not only significantly expanded the capabilities of this market, but by offering alternative types of energy product, encourages small countries for a "big breakthrough". The "green economy" is not accidentally gradually entering the public consciousness as a path to sustainable development of most countries that have shown their achievements at EXPO-2017 in Astana. However, in the wide space of Eurasia, the interests and policies of traditional and new actors clashes - the states of the European Union, the SCO, Central Asia, the Eurasian Economic Union, etc., where the energy sector plays a significant role.

What are the real opportunities to create a common energy market? Who can and should coordinate the actions of its participants in preserving energy security? What is the potential and role of regional organizations? What are the initiatives and practical steps of individual countries? These and other issues are expected to be discussed within the framework of this conference.

We invite you to participate in the discussion platform of the conference!
