Biotechnology chair is one of the leading chairs of al-Farabi Kazakh National University. The chair is created in September, 2011 on the basis of two chairs: biotechnology, biochemistry, physiology of plants and microbiology. The head of the chair is Prof. Zayadan Bolatkhan Kazykhanuly.
All stuff of the chair has scientific degrees. There are 13 professors, 25 assistant professors and 3 PhD are working at the chair.
The main objectives of chair are:
- carrying out actual scientific researches;
- providing conditions for preparation of specialists biotechnologists;
- high-quality realization of teaching, educational and methodical work on the basis of innovative methods of the organization of educational process;
- improvement of the materials providing improvement of quality of knowledge and abilities of students and listeners of programs.
The chair is training in "Biotechnology" bachelor, master degree and PhD studies.
