Museum of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University The Museum of history of al-Farabi Kazakh National University is a scientific subdivision of the university, the main objective of which is the preservation, augmentation and promotion of cultural and historical values of the university for the maintenance of an effective scientific and educational preparation, moral and patriotic education of future specialists who will be competitive in Kazakhstan and globally. The opening of Museum was on October 13, 2009, the Day when the President Nursultan Nazarbayev visited Al-Farabi Kazakh National University. The Museum of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University is a modern centre for research and educational training and spiritual-moral upbringing of youth, it is a carrier of its historical memory and cultural traditions. It implements the multifunctional role in life of the university. There are carried out the following activities on its base as: branding,educational, educational-methodical, scientific research, innovative and pedagogic. The total area of Museum complex is 1000 sq. meters. It consists of Gallery of history, a Hall of Glory, a Hall of the modernity and the Hall of Sustainable Development of the University.
	History Gallery Conceptual plan of gallery is demonstration of historical retrospective of al-Farabi KazNU, that reflects the basic marks of education and science development in Kazakhstan. Historical documents are presented in gallery, that are connected with the activity of different-age rectorsof the university, and also with origin and development of authoritative scientificschools.
There are some unique complexes in Atrium, that are dedicated to the Greatest thinker of the East, philosopher - Abu Nasr al-Farabi. Our University is named after al-Farabi since 1991. The second complex is about the First President of Independent Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev – Honorable Doctor and Honorable Professor of al-Farabi KazNU.

Hall of Fame In the centre of Hall of Glory there is a Pyramid – a monumental installation in honor of the 75 anniversary of the University. Walls are decorated by photo galleries: «Winners of the State awards», «Graduates of University – our pride» and «Kyrmetti professors and doctors» exhibiting photographs of Nobel laureates who visited our University.
	Achievements and prospects of Faculties, Research Institutes and Centers are reflected in the Hall "KazNU - today, tomorrow". In the middle of Hall there is the central exposition "Earth of the XXI century", symbolizing the planetary scope of modern Knowledge.
Extremely impressive are new 3D-displays demonstrating great achievements of the university on the way to transformation into a research university, entering the list of the top world universities and creation of Al-Farabi University Smart City aimed at reaching sustainable development.


The KazNU Museum is the only high school museum that became a founder of the Kazakhstan Committee of the International Council of Museums (ICOM Kazakhstan); it joined the Eurasian and Kazakhstan Association of Universities and actively collaborates with museums and cultural centres of the world.
