Chair of the Council of Young Scientists of Russian Philology, Russian and World Literature Olympiad was held in the Russian language, devoted to the Independence Day of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

Competition in the Russian language, devoted to the Independence Day of the Republic of Kazakhstan was held in two rounds: November 30 (first round) and December 4 (second round). In the competition was attended by 14 students of the Kazakh branch of the different faculties of the university.

The first round of the Olympiad was held on 30 November - in the form of testing. In the second round - an essay contest - were admitted 9 students scored 17 to 25 points of testing (December 4). The suggested essay topics: 1. Independence of the Republic of Kazakhstan - 21 years. 2. Kazakhstan's future is in my hands. 3. New Kazakhstan in the world today. 4.Moy blooming Kazakhstan. Prizes following students won: 1st place-Ospankulova J. (Graduate School of Economics and Business), 2nd place-Kaniyev A. (Department of Physics and Technology), Asimzhanova E. (fakultetet history, archeology, ethnography), 3rd-Duysebaeva A. (Department of History, Archaeology, Ethnography) Sariev A. (Faculty of Law). The winners were awarded with certificates.

The republican theoretical and practical conference

"Language - Speech - Word in philological researches" took place.

November 2, 2012 At Kazakh National University named after Al-Farabi , Faculty of Philology, Literary Studies and World Languages, on basis of Department of Russian Philology, Russian and World Literature held the republican theoretical and practical conference "Language - Speech - Word in philological researches" dedicated to eightieth anniversary from the date of birth of Professor R.S. Zueva.
