On November 14, 2011, was held a student conference on “Kazakhstan and the world community”, dedicated to the 20th anniversary of the independence of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
The conference was held at the initiative of the Chair of Diplomatic Translation of the Faculty of International Relations of KazNU named after al-Faraby, and the personal assistance of senior teacher of English – Nurgaliyeva Maira Nurgaliyevna.
The formulation of conceptual basis and principles of Kazakh foreign policy was started shortly after Kazakhstan gained its independence on December 16, 1991. 20 years ago Nursultan Nazarbayev, President of Kazakhstan, has clearly determined the main strategy of Kazakh diplomacy – creating and maintaining favorable conditions for the steady development of the country on the basis of political and economical reforms.
The student conference on “Kazakhstan and the world community” brought together teachers, students and activists, interested in the direction of the main achievements in the independent development of Kazakhstan during the last 20 years with the pertinent and relevant international political issues of our time.
The Conference consisted of 9 panels, ranging from topics such as “United Nations and Kazakhstan: 20 years of successful partnership” to “The European Union – Kazakhstan cooperation”.
Students prepared reports on the analysis of Kazakhstan’s relations with theworld's leading countriesandinternational organizations, such as UN, NATO and OSCE. Itwas a uniqueopportunityfor studentsto getlatestdate information, exchange views and share ideas.
The Conference was open to everyone and many students from different Chairs attended. After the speech,the authorsof reportsgraciouslyanswered questions fromthe audience.A shortdiscussionwas completed onthe finalspeech of associate professor of KazNU - Suleimenova Gulsum Seilhankyzy.Closing of the conferencewas marked bya solemnaward of grateful diplomas.
