The Department of Economics is one of the leading departments of the Graduate School of Economics and Business, the creation of which was associated with the need to use in the economy of quantitative methods of analysis. Here the teaching is based on the best traditions of classical education with the use of modern and innovative techniques.

The Department of Economics has been operational since 2011-2012 academic year as a result of the restructuring and integration of departments of Macro-microeconomics and economic theory.

At present the department teach professors and doctors of science, professors and PhDs. Experts of the Department of Economics have been trained at leading research centers. Issued teaching guides to the study of economic subjects using computer technology. Highly qualified teaching staff of the department helps provide basic economic knowledge to thousands of students. Since then, the Department has won the undisputed authority among colleagues and students, based on a professional approach to learning, the use of the latest scientific developments in the field of education and modern educational process.

The department has a permanent international relations with such universities as the University of Kansas (USA), University of Rome «La Sapienza» (Italy), George Washington University (USA), Yokohama National University (Japan), etc.
